Woma python

Aspidites ramsayi

In many ways, the woma, a true desert species, is an excellent choice for a 'first snake'.  With a maximum length of about 1.5m, womas are smaller than black-headed pythons and have an inquisitive and charming demeanour.  Although womas are extraordinarily relaxed and placid, there is a significant 'but' to consider:  when it comes to eating, so far as a hungry woma is concerned, everything is potentially on the menu, including their keeper's hand, arm or even neck.  To put it bluntly, womas can be 'food crazy' to the point of madness.

West coast womas

We are very pleased to be able to offer third generation hatchling womas from the Great Sandy Desert of Western Australia.  Our founder animals originated in the vicinity of 80 Mile Beach, south of Sandfire, WA.

We regard the sire of these expected hatchlings to be the most spectacular woma we have seen - and mum ain't half-bad either!
