Diamond python
Morelia spilota spilotaThe spectacular diamond python is a large subspecies - to over 2.5m. Many of the residents of Sydney outskirts and other coastal regions of NSW are lucky enough to encounter diamond pythons from time to time in nature. Captive-bred diamonds are generally become quiet and docile as they mature, and quite amenable to handling. This makes them a very popular choice from amongst the 'biggish' pythons. The gorgeous colouration - comprised of a black background with various patterns of yellow or white, provides for camouflage when diamonds roost amongst green foliage, but out of context, packs a big wallop of the 'wow' factor. This is a fairly arboreal python, and as such should be provided with appropriate cage furnishing to allow elevated perching behaviour. Our breeding stock has been carefully selected and are descendants of Gosford provenanced founders. |
