About Us

Snake Ranch is Australia's first and largest reptile breeding facility designed to provide quality hatchling pythons at highly competitive prices. Backed up by industry-best service you can be assured that your new python will arrive disease free and feeding well.

Since 2005, our facility located on the central coast of nsw has focused on breeding  the latest colour mutations and locality specific pythons. We work with a very wide range of species and colour morphs suitable for everyone from first snake purchasers to highly experienced keepers.

Originally the brainchild of Dr Gavin Bedford, who moved on to create Crocosaurus Cove in Darwin, and John Weigel, owner of the Australian Reptile Park. Together they built the largest reptile collection ever seen in the country. However, after 8 years of "Running The Ranch" John was keen to move on to new projects. The decision was made to sell Snake Ranch to Chris Williams and Martin Kennedy.

Chris and Marty both share a lifelong interest in reptiles and have been involved in the hobby for many years. It was their aim to build on the good name Snake Ranch currently holds, and take the company to new and exciting heights. However, a demanding schedule in his 'day job’ meant that Chris had to hand the reins over to Marty, who with the help of the dedicated staff continue to work with an exciting array of species, and remain at the forefront of morph development in Australia.

Recently Snake Ranch was able to secure Wayne Adcock as the company's new head keeper. His achievements breeding most species of Australia's pythons are exceptional, and his arrival at the Ranch ensure a very exciting future for us. He will oversee several new and very exciting breeding programs and manage the keeping staff who look after the adult breeders and our very large, and very busy nursery. The Snake Ranch administration & sales team can be contacted to arrange the purchase of any of our available animals.

Ongoing support is provided to all our customers. If there is a problem, just call us!

Upon hatching, pythons are moved to the Snake Ranch nursery, where ‘feeders’ are established prior to distribution. Some species, including womas like the one pictured left, are natural-born food-hogs, and would probably try to eat a shoe if given the chance. Other species unfortunately can take much more work and patience to establish desired feed patterns.
