About Us
|
Founded in 2004 by John Weigel and Gavin Bedford, Snake Ranch is a specialised reptile breeding enterprise located on the Mid-North Coast of NSW, distributing hatchling pythons to hobbyists in most States and Territories to Snake Ranch Society of Reptile Keeper (SRSRK) members. SRSRK members receive price lists, conditions of sales, and other information. The Snake Ranch team includes administration Jill Rassack and keepers Cindy Jackson looking after adult breeders and Karla Pound looking after the nursery and sales. Special projects currently underway at Snake Ranch include selective breeding for unusual and spectacular colour forms of most Australian python species.

Upon hatching, pythons are moved to the Snake Ranch nursery, where ‘feeders’ are established prior to distribution. Some species, including womas like the one pictured left, are natural-born food-hogs, and would probably try to eat a shoe if given the chance. Other species unfortunately can take much more work and patience to establish desired feed patterns.
